Since 1988, I have been actively serving in the local church and since 1994 have served as a full-time worship pastor at churches in N.E. Ohio. Currently, I serve at Grace Church in Rootstown, OH as the staff elder overseeing worship/music and administration. I am blessed with an awesome wife, LeAnna, and two highly energetic sons, Caleb and Hunter.

My passion is to teach and lead local assemblies about biblical worship and model that in corporate worship settings, as well as the intentional training of leadership (pastors/elders) within the context of the local church. In addition, I am an avid reader of Piper, MacArthur, Dever, D.A. Carson, Ian Murray and Lawson (to name a few) as well as the writings of Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards and the Puritans. I am reformed, adhering to the doctrines grace, and “blended” in my approach to corporate worship.

I enjoy arranging musical selections, golfing (a hacker) and spending with my family. As an Ohio State Buckeye fan, I am proud of the 2002 National Championship in football, not so proud of the effort in recent BCS Championship games (2007, 2008). Regardless, NE Ohio professional sports teams have failed to claim the ring many times within my life time, so pulling for a good college team makes being a sports fan in NE Ohio a little more palatable.

About This Site

This site is first of all a blog. I will generally post comments regarding worship and music, contemporary issues that are facing the church at large, or a passage of scripture that I might be studying at the time. Secondly, I wish this site to be a resource center for those I serve with at my local church as well as the church in general.
